We believe in the democratization of science, public access, and public engagement. This is only possible with effective science communication, combined with creative solutions for public engagement.

Principal - Ilona Miko, PhD
Trained as a systems neuroscientist and artist, Ilona spent seven years in publishing, leading content and design for large-scale digital science learning portals at Nature Publishing Group. As managing editor of Nature Education, she developed science-based media and oversaw the open publication, Nature Education. She also worked on large institutional partnerships with UNESCO and Hoffman LaRoche. Through this work, Ilona optimized science content in both publications and digital interactive scenarios, serving a global audience. Her most recent project was The World Library of Science. Along the way, she formed a network of like-minded science professionals who have now joined her endeavor to create MikoArtScience, a consulting business supporting science communication and digital science product development.

PREVIOUS WORK
The World Library Of Science is an open online teaching/learning portal combining Nature Education publications with technology-based community features. Under the auspices of UNESCO's far reaching dissemination network, this freely accessible resource is meant to help equalize access to science learning resources and career support.
As Nature Education's debut online science learning portal, Scitable has grown to over 55,000 registered users and over 12 million visits per year. Classrooms and discussions are combined alongside an all-ages blog network, supporting formal and informal learning networks. Career and communication support a variety of professional development paths related to science. Scitable is used by students and teachers in over 180 countries.
